Community Update
Hello community,
We are writing to share the progress of The Work Community. The website continues to be developed and expanded, and is now ready to use! In addition, we are thrilled to see so many of us coming together in the WhatsApp Community.
The vision behind The Work Community is to be a place where anyone can go and access the many resources available to connect with others and practice The Work of Byron Katie. Our aim is to support all of us interested in practicing and moving The Work in the world.
We have an events list on the website and are in the midst of compiling a directory of organizations and local communities sharing The Work around the world. We will have a blog where you can stay in touch on updates and developments.
We started with a few volunteers and every day more and more of the community is getting involved. Our intention is to come together and determine how to organize ourselves and make decisions. It’s a gift to co-create in this way and we’re grateful to all volunteering to help.
We are in the process of organizing ourselves based on what is shared in the volunteer form. These are the preliminary areas / teams:
Do The Work: Offer to facilitate in the “find a partner” rooms, coordinate ongoing Inquiry events, The Work for Breakfast, 1-4-1 partners and events grounded in The Work.
Administrative: Web development and design, organizational and structural research and implementation, budget, finance and donations.
Resources: Collaborating with non-profits, research institutes and technology that are moving The Work in the world.
Communities: Collaborating with existing communities grounded in The Work and helping them get listed on the website.
Volunteer: Helping with volunteer communications, onboarding, committee assignments and additional support.
Communications: Drafting communications to inform the community of updates, new events, and creating feedback loops to hear the voice of the community.
If you feel called to join us, please do! There are still many things we need support with. To sign up as a volunteer, please click here.
We’re so excited to come together in our love of self-inquiry and welcome your ideas and suggestions as our community expands. We will be sure to keep you informed as we continue to evolve.
With gratitude for The Work and each of you,
The Work Community Volunteers
